Hypnosis – Can I hypnotize myself easily and effortlessly?

“Can I hypnotize myself easily and effortlessly?” I used to think this too and then I realized how many natural ways I was already hypnotized throughout the day.

I’m sure there was a time when you were driving and you started up the car and the next thing you know you arrived at the destination. This is what you call highway hypnosis. Your unconscious mind has learned how to drive and already get there so you unconsciously got there in a slight trance.

I’m sure you’ve done the dishes or another task around the house and you feel relaxed doing it or you don’t even have to think about how you do it either. This is because you are doing task hypnosis.

So if we already are in and out of hypnosis throughout the day we can feel more empowered and hypnotize ourselves with the purpose to achieve specific outcomes.

I have created a PDF with 10 Proven Self Hypnosis Techniques so you can see ways to actually do it. I want to share different times I like to hypnotize myself that you can relate to.

I’m sure there are a few people out there who do not like to go to the dentist. This is when I love to use hypnosis to relax myself. I do a few different things to achieve a state of hypnosis.

The first thing is because the chair has you looking in the same area, I start with eye fixation. So I keep my eyes open and focus on a spot. I notice if it changes at all and I continue to really concentrate on that spot. After a minute, I’ll become aware of how often I blink and my eyes getting heavy. After another minute they become really heavy and I don’t want to keep them open much longer so after a bit I close them.

At the dentist, I then focus on my breathing and tell myself I am calm and relaxed. I use this suggestion throughout so I can be relaxed throughout.

Another time I often hypnotize myself or use relaxation techniques is when I wait in line somewhere or when I am in a place where there is a bit of a crowd. In this situation, because you may be standing or sitting I do a breathing technique. It is called 4-7-8 breathing and it is really simple. You breathe in through your nose for 4 seconds, you hold your breath for 7 seconds and you exhale out your mouth for 8 seconds. I created a video for 4-7-8 breathing. I would suggest when you first do it to go for 5-10 breaths and see how you feel.

These are two of the times I like to hypnotize myself. I feel that these are places or situations you may find yourself in.
