Hypnosis scripts – creating them for you and others

hypnosis scripts

How would you like to begin writing hypnosis scripts that easily get results for you and others? Does a hypnotist need a script when doing hypnosis?

With this blog post I’ll be answering these questions and more. I often have some sort of notes when doing hypnosis sessions with clients. This is because I do not want to forget anything. When I first work with a client I ask them questions and they often give many keywords of things they want to get rid of and achieve.

And guess what? I can strategically use these words along with techniques that I know during the hypnosis session. So, these keywords can get plugged into hypnosis scripts that I already have or I can just have them as notes. I do not read anything during the session, I only use this as a reference so the client has the most successful session for them.

It’s easy to tell clients that I have a piece of paper in front of me and I am taking notes. I let them know I want to use this piece of paper later because I do not want to miss anything. Also, this lets the client know that I am invested in them making the changes.

Want to see a few samples of hypnosis scripts. You can go to hypnosis scripts and read a script I wrote. This has to do with strengthening the mind body connection.

So, what are some of the main parts you want in a hypnosis script?

What are the main parts of hypnosis scripts?

Hypnosis is something that I do not like to complicate. Hypnosis is a process, it is all about learning and what you create. It is meant for you to be enjoying the session or audio if you are listening to an audio.

Effective hypnosis scripts include

Hypnotic induction

Hypnosis deepener

Suggestive script

Post hypnotic suggestions

Reorientation and awakening

I am now going to go over each part of hypnosis scripts and give some examples.

Hypnosis induction

The hypnotic induction is much more important than it gets credit for. There is no need to rush through the induction to get to the good stuff or what you can call the suggestive script. The hypnosis induction can be short or long and it can take time depending on how relaxed the client gets.

The whole purpose of the hypnosis induction is to relax you. When you start hypnosis you are probably in a normal waking state and want to relax. So, this is the purpose of the hypnosis induction. The induction can relax the body and mind in many different ways.

A simple induction to do is to start at the top of your head and say to yourself, I now relax the top of my head. Continue all the way down to your toes. Relax each part of your body. You can go through this two times if you need to and want to relax more.

For more details on a popular induction called progressive muscle relaxation you can go to progressive muscle relaxation. Also, in that article is a hypnosis audio of the progressive muscle relaxation induction. You can listen to the hypnosis audio.

If you are getting through the induction and deepener you are about 90% of the way there to letting go of your issue and on your way to achieving long lasting success.

Hypnosis scripts continued the hypnosis deepener

Deepeners follow the induction. They are verbal suggestions the hypnotist gives to help the client go deeper into trance.

Deepeners are used to

Guide a client to relax even further

Help insure concentration and suggestibility

Help facilitate guided imagery

Measure current trance depth

They may contain suggestions, but generally not. They can tell a story that ties metaphorically to the suggestive script, or they can be directive and visual like the staircase deepener.

Here is an example of a staircase deepener

You can now imagine a spiral staircase. You know the way a spiral staircase goes down and round and round.

And you can imagine yourself standing at the top of the spiral staircase.

In a moment I’m going to count back slowly from 10 to 1 and as I do so I would like you to go slowly, safely and easily down the steps.

And as you take each step down feel yourself go deeper down with each step, let your mind and body relax deeper and deeper.

10 relax even deeper.

9, 8, 7 your mind and body drift deeper into relaxation.

6, 5, 4, 3, 2 and 1 you are completely relaxed.

For other examples of hypnosis deepeners you can read my book Pro Hypnosis Scripts. It has a chapter with different inductions and another chapter with deepeners. Most importantly, it has over 45 examples of hypnosis scripts.

Suggestive script

Here is where it gets more fun. In other words, this is the actual script or suggestions of the script because this is where I use keywords the client gave me. Remember, I said I ask questions, gather information then add much of that into the script.

In other words, one thing I like to say to clients during the hypnosis session is thank you for setting this time aside for yourself today. I am going to be offering many suggestions and those suggestions are not actually coming from me. They are coming from you because you chose this hypnosis session and you chose to be here today.

So, there is a suggestion that the client can agree with and then later I can use the keywords that they told me. I listen for words that are values, feelings, and any other important information that will guide the client to create lasting change. I also, see if they are motivated going away from something or towards the goal they want to achieve.

Some questions that I ask to get the answers are

What do you look for in a job?

How do you know you’ve done a good job?

What makes relationships meaningful?

Tell me what hobbies you have? What attracts you to your hobbies?

What’s the most relaxing place that comes to mind?

These five questions are only a few that I can ask to come up with suggestions for the client. After that, I am ready to plug these words into some techniques that are helpful for the client to succeed.

Post hypnotic suggestions

These are suggestions made that suggests to the client to do something after they do the hypnosis sessions. As long as the suggestion is in the client’s unconscious mind they carry out the suggestion for as long as they want.

The client may be consciously aware when they are doing it that it was a suggestion. Or it can be unconscious and the client is now creating a beneficial habit.

One of the common types of post hypnotic suggestions is having a cue for the client. An example is every time you see your favorite color you are going to remember how confident and limitless you are. After hearing the suggestion during the hypnosis session the client’s confidence builds and builds.

Another examples are when you wake up each morning you are going to confidently go through your day. When you walk through your front door you feel confidence.

A post hypnotic suggestion can be attached to anything. It is easy to use common things in a house or a favorite color. Also, I can ask a client if there is anything in their house that reminds them of what they want to feel and use that.

Reorientation and awakening

This is the final part of the script and it is short. The client has learned everything they did hypnosis to learn and it is time for the session to come to an end. Typically, this is a number count up from one to five or one to ten.

An example is, in a moment I am going to count up from one to five and with each number you’ll become more alert and at five you can open your eyes and come back into the room.

One seeing yourself confident and successful. Two hearing the sounds of success. Three feeling so good. Four you learn so much and five open your eyes ready to enjoy the rest of your day or evening.

What hypnosis scripts do you want to create?

Writing hypnosis scripts is easy when you follow these steps. Go ahead and give it your full effort and write a induction, deepener and some suggestions. Use some of the ideas from this blog post or use some ideas from my book Pro Hypnosis Scripts.

I know it can guide you because it has over 45 scripts and that means that is more than 45 ways to do hypnosis.

Start off with a easy induction because you know what relaxes you. One of the easiest ways to relax is to remember another time you were relaxed. Write a staircase or number deepener and if you don’t want to do a whole script then give yourself the same suggestion for five minutes and reorient to the room.

Send me an email at [email protected] and let me know what you come up with.
